I’m a huge...and when I say huge, I literally mean massive gigantic colossal Audrey Hepburn fan. Saying she’s my idol is putting it mildly. Her films, her life, her accomplishments and everything she stood for have resinated with me since I was a child. So as soon as I saw this title make its way into my 'recommended' section on kobo, I thought, “Hey, why not. This story sounds intriguing enough.” I also thought “Lucky fictional Libby!”.
It not my usual read, but this book was nothing short of fun. Funny, witty, light and easy. It felt like a chick flick that would do well on television film. A clever little read that had me laughing out loud at the misfortunes of Libby Lomax that just accumulated - poor girl certainly hasn’t had it the best, at times. Between the relationship with her father- or lack there of, getting sacked on set, and the ‘unpaid personal assistant internship-esque’ relationship with her sister, Cass, amongst everything else, I truly felt for the poor girl. Though I found Libby’s character to be a little bit too predictable at times, she was rather relatable at the same time, and the story itself was cute overall, with some sound advice from good old Audrey.
Giving this one 3.5⭐️. Lucy Holliday was truly creative. Looking forward to giving her next, A Night In With Marilyn Monroe a go for another light and breezy read in between my TBR titles!
